Local Authority Duties

For permanent exclusions, the local authority must arrange suitable full-time education for the pupil to begin from the sixth school day after the first day the permanent exclusion took place. This will be the pupil’s ‘home authority’ in cases where the school is located in a different local authority area.

DfE Suspension and Permanent Exclusion Guidance Pg 33 Paragraph 90

If your child is in Year 11 and does not have any further public examinations to sit there is no legal obligation for the school or the local authority to provide education.
